Paula Breton settled in Morocco, her beloved country, in 1970. In 1981, she arrived in Marrakech, where she decided to embark on her own entrepreneurial journey by founding Unitour Maroc. At a time when the tourism industry in Morocco was still developing, she had the courage and determination to create a company that would set new standards in the sector.
With a relentless commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction, Paula built Unitour Maroc into a trusted DMC (Destination Management Company). She navigated challenges with resilience, laying a strong foundation that would allow the company to thrive for decades. For over three decades, Unitour Maroc has been a major player in tourism in Marrakech, excelling in both the MICE sector and leisure travel, achieving remarkable success with numerous prestigious projects. Her pioneering spirit continues to be a source of inspiration for all of the team.
Beyond her entrepreneurial success, Paula was a dedicated advocate for the professional associative sector. She actively engaged in professional associations for many years and played a key role in shaping what are today the various professional tourism associations in Marrakech.
Her contributions have had a lasting impact on the industry’s organization and representation.
Meriame Housni, Paula Breton’s daughter-in-law, has played a crucial role in the evolution of Unitour Maroc. After joining the company in 2004, she worked closely alongside Paula for several years, gaining valuable experience and insight into the industry. In 2012, she took over the leadership of the company, continuing its legacy while introducing modern business strategies.
A graduate of Sup’ De Co Marrakech, a prestigious business school, Meriame has a strong academic background that has equipped her with the skills to lead and innovate in the industry. She is deeply passionate about tourism and hospitality, paying meticulous attention to every detail to ensure excellence in service. Her commitment to quality, combined with her strategic vision, has helped Unitour Maroc grow and strengthen its reputation as a leading DMC in Morocco.
Meriame has also demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of major challenges, particularly during the COVID-19 crisis between 2020 and 2022, which severely impacted global tourism. Her ability to adapt, maintain team morale, and implement innovative solutions during this period was instrumental in keeping Unitour Maroc operational and ready for the industry’s recovery.
Through her perseverance, she has upheld Paula’s legacy while steering the company towards a future that is both innovative and responsible.
Under her leadership, Unitour Maroc has reinforced its position as a key player in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector. The company has developed exclusive and customized incentive in Morocco programs that provide corporate clients with unforgettable experiences.
